One is Fun
Imagine a brilliant sun just above and in front of your head, and its heat, like a warm oil, washes away the front of your body of all stress, old stories, crinkles, tiredness, etc.
A second sun, above and behind your head this time, does the same for the back surface of the body.
A third sun, directly above your head now, and its heat, like warm oil, comes in your crown and washes away the stress, tiredness and old stories from all your internal organs, beginning at the brain and continuing down the very centre of your body such that all major organs and glands are touched, including the pineal, hypothalamus, and pituitary glands, the thyroid and parathyroid, heart, lungs and thymus, digestive organs, and reproductive organs, before splitting into 2 streams that continue down the centre of your 2 legs and drains into the earth.
Two is Shoe
Imagine now that your acquired mind, like a melting block of ice, dissolves at your feet and spreads around you before entering the ground below you.
Three is Tree
Now, feel roots extending below you, beginning at the Kidney 1 point just under your feet, and entering the ground to spread directly below, in front, behind, to the right, and to the left of you, first One Body Length, then Two Body Lengths.
Four is Core
Imagine that these roots now reach the core of the Earth, at which point the Earth energy begins to rise up these roots to enter your body at your feet, climbing up your legs, entering the spine at the coccyx and coming up the spinal column all the way to the top of the head. Make sure your tongue is in the Fire position (i.e. just behind the upper front teeth where they meet the palate). The Earth energy continues to progress now forward and down, connecting with the tip of the tongue before continuing down all the way to the lower Jiao (i.e. the pelvic cavity) where it begins to collect.
Five is Alive
As it collects, swirling around in the Lower Dan Tian, it begins to rise and, at the point where it meets the energy of the Kidneys, at the Ming Men, the Gate of Vitality, it transforms into a vibrant, luminous steam which continues to rise and fill the abdominal cavity, then the chest cavity.
When it reaches the heart, it splits into two streams which descend into the arms and exit through the hands to pool around the base of your body. This Earth energy begins to pool around your feet, then ankles and continues upward, filling the 3 Wei Qi fields as it goes, rising and rising until all of your body is surrounded by this Earth energy. Six is Thick
At this point, feel this energy compressing against the edge of the room you’re in, compressing against the walls on the in breath, then relaxing some on the out breath, just to compress again during the in breath. Do and feel this a few times.
Six is Thick
Open up your crown, and send a wave of appreciation toward the Heavens for this opportunity to connect, expand, and explore life. In return, the Heavens mirrors this appreciation back to you. This Heavenly energy enters at your crown and begins to fill the Upper Dan Tian (UDT), where the brain, hypothalamus, pineal and pituitary glands are.
When the UDT is full, it overflows into the Middle Dan Tian (MDT), which then overflows into the Lower Dan Tian when full.
The Heavenly energy continues to flow in and now begins to fill the pelvic cavity, then the abdominal cavity, the chest cavity. At this point, the Tai Ji pole which connects the 3 Dan Tians turns on like a bright, white neon light as the inside of the body continues to fill with Heavenly energy until…

Eight is Gate
It begins to pour out of the body through the pores of the skin and the joints such that it now blends with the Earth energy within the 3 Wei Qi fields.
Nine is Shine
When the 3 Wei Qi fields are full, allow these combined energies to blend with your surroundings. As you breathe in, extend your awareness to your immediate surroundings, i.e. the room or the trees in the park. As you breathe out, bring in the feeling of this connection to your centre. Next in breath, extend this awareness now to the town or geographic area, then bring that in to your centre. Continue this way until you’ve connected with the whole universe, using a few more breaths to reach that full connection.
Ten is Begin
You are now ready to complete this energetic ‘’Set Up” by doing the invocations.
Invocations
Suggestions for the first two invocations:
First Invocation
I call on my guides and guardians, the wisdom of the 4 directions, and the wisdom of the Immortals to guide and assist in my practice so that I remain closest to my Divine path, in the ways of the Dao, such that what I learn is for the Greatest Good of all.
Second Invocation
1. I ask that this space be kept safe and sacred and that only manifestations of Pure and Unconditional Love are present during my practice.
2. Using the hand mudras learned during the workshop, move your arms in the ways of ‘Bringing down the Heaven’. The first mudra (sword fingers pattern of the Daoist priests – thumb over ring finger, little finger over thumb) is made as the arms cross for the first time. When the fingers point toward the ground, begin the invocation by saying “From Holy Place to Holy Place” as the arms raise upward. As they come down, the arms cross a second time at which point the mudra changes to the thumb connecting with the index finger to complete the invocation “I deem this Place Thy Holy Place”. The invocation is completed by flicking the index into full open hand position.
You are now One with the Universe, One with God, One with the Energy of Your Creator.
